What Affects the Cost of a Website?
Six factors that move the price — and how to manage them.
Number of pages
Each page requires design, copy, and build time. A 10-page website is roughly twice the work of a 5-page one. Our 7 Day Website is priced in three bands (Simple, Standard, Complex) based on page count and layout complexity.
Custom design vs template
We do not use templates. Every Brambla site is designed from scratch to match your brand. Agencies that use page builders or templates can work faster and charge less — but the result often looks like a template. Custom design takes longer and costs more, but it is yours.
E-commerce functionality
Selling online adds significant complexity: product pages, payment gateway integration, cart flows, order management, and security requirements. A basic e-commerce site starts at the upper end of our Custom Website range.
SEO requirements
All our sites include foundational SEO. Deep SEO work — content strategy, keyword mapping, technical audits, structured data — sits outside the build cost and is handled through our SEO Care service (from £95/mo).
Content creation
We build the structure; you supply the words and photos. If you need us to write your copy, that is £150 per page. If you need professional photography, we can arrange it or source stock alternatives. Content you provide is always free.
Ongoing maintenance
A website is not a one-off purchase. Hosting, security, software updates, and backups are ongoing costs. Our SiteCare plans cover all of this from £30/mo. Ignoring maintenance leads to slow sites, security vulnerabilities, and eventual rebuilds.
The Hidden Costs Most Agencies Don't Tell You
Your website quote is rarely the whole cost. Here's everything else you need to budget for — and how we handle each one.
Hosting
£30–£245/mo depending on plan. Every website needs somewhere to live. Included in SiteCare.
Brambla: From £30/mo with SiteCare
Domain name
A .co.uk domain costs approximately £10–£15/year. A .com is slightly more.
Brambla: We register it as part of your project
SSL certificate
Some providers charge £50–£100/year for SSL (the padlock in your browser). We include it free.
Brambla: Always included, no extra charge
Content writing
Most agencies assume you supply your own copy. If you need a copywriter, budget £100–£250 per page.
Brambla: Optional at £150/page
Updates and changes
Post-launch content changes and new pages are not free. Some agencies charge hourly rates.
Brambla: Included in SiteCare Growth/Premium — or £150–£250/page
Support
Urgent fixes, broken links, or performance issues need someone to respond quickly.
Brambla: Included in all SiteCare plans
How Brambla Compares
